Hue University

Beginner
2-4 weeks’
intensive study

Vietnamese will be open to visiting

Speciality
classes
Foreign learners
who have mastered Vietnamese may enroll in
the degree programs of Hue University’s
faculties. Speciality classes will be
conducted at Hue University depending on
which classes learners registered for.

depends on the class learners apply for.
Internship
Each learner
will have an internship project organized
through the International Center. The
learner could assist a Vietnamese
professor in research or in other ways,
work in a school as an English or French
teacher, work in a health center or
hospital, work with an NGO, or help with
translation into English or French.
Each learner
will write a paper or thesis based on the
internship.
Social
activities and field trips
 An interesting
part of learning in our International
Center is taking part in social
activities. It’s very exciting to enjoy
them in Hue. There are social activities
for everyone – from entertainment to
cultural excursions. Typical excursions
include: Nguyen Dynasty’s Citadel, Kings’
Tombs, Church and Pagoda, Market and its
surrounding areas.
Tours to beaches
and Bach Ma National Park are also
interesting.
These activities
offer a great opportunity for enjoying the
local sights, making new friends, and
practicing your Vietnamese skill and
supplementing your living knowledge
outside the classroom. If necessary,
learners would be arranged to have short
excursions or study tours in other cities,
and other institutions in Vietnam.
 
There is a
charge for social programme activities.

Passport to
success
This is a guide
only – speed of progress varies according
to motivation, aptitude and language
ability.
As a Hue
University learner, you can expect to make
good progress every week. We assess what
level you are currently at and help you
identify what level you hope to reach. The
longer you stay, the more your Vietnamese
improves.
Whether you are
studying for travel, work or fun, you can
rely on us to help you meet your targets
and find the course that’s right for you.
Academic and
supporting staff
The courses are
taught by friendly, experienced university
instructors. Among the most important
resources available to learners is
full-time staffs to help with any
questions learners may have about your
academic courses, campus life, or
adjusting to life in Vietnam.
Tests
Participants
will be given an evaluation paper to test
your Vietnamese Proficiency level and thus
to situate you in the class mostly suit to
your ability and knowledge.
Recognition
Hue University
certificate - all of our learners receive
a certificate once you have successfully
completed your course. A transcript will
be prepared, with grades for each class,
so that learners may receive credit from
your home university.
Visa
Information
Learners coming
to Vietnam must arrange in advance to
obtain a passport and the appropriate
visa. It is recommended that applicants
send your registration form to the Center
at least four weeks prior to the date on
which you desire to leave your home
country. The Center will inform you of the
permission number to obtain a learner visa
at the Vietnam Embassy 2 weeks before
leaving.
Tuition and
Costs
 For learners
attending class for beginner, elementary,
pre-intermediate, intermediate,
upper-intermediate, who study in classes
of 1-3 persons, the cost per person are 5
USD for each hour. Reductions to 3 USD per
learner may be given for groups of 4
learners or more.
For advanced
learners, who study in classes of 1-3
persons, the cost per person are 10 USD
for each hour. Reductions to 7 USD per
learner may be given for groups of 4
learners or more.
Apart from
tuition, other possible costs include:
- Administrative costs
- Internet service for the
price of 2 USD/month.
- Internet & library
service for the price of 8 USD/year.
